It was on Wednesday when I received the sweetest letter and illustrations from the very so lovely Nora Lilly who has a blog of her own here. I had won a giveaway of hers and honestly didn't expect to win! I thought I would show you the illustrations she sent me which are of me and six little inspirational note cards. My favourite I think is the 'Don't worry be happy' note card as it is something I constantly sing to myself.

Temporary Tattoos* c/o Fickle

I was contacted by Fickle about two weeks ago asking me to review a few samples of their temporary tattos. It took me back to the days of finding a blueberry temporary tattoo from cheep bubble gum and feeling the excitement when you pealed back to show your piece of art that would be soon rubbed off a few hours later.

Fickle's designs are however, really cool and you get two in a packet for five pounds which is super thrifty! The designs have been hand drawn by a number of artists from Charlotte Farmer to Ed Grace. The process for applying the tattoo is well explained and took less than a minute! Simply apply your tattoo to the desired area, soak it with a cloth for thirty seconds and there you have your very own tattoo! All in all, I'm really pleased with my temporary art and will definitely be saving my others for events etc.

I recently dyed my hair and said good bye to my blonde highlighted locks. I think it's good to have a change now and again and I really like my colour. My pasty complexion makes me resemble Cathy Earnshaw from 'Wuthering Heights' (queue Kate Bush) so, I have been experimenting with my make-up a little more and I think I've found my 'go to' look for everyday!

I've been experimenting with my brows a lot lately and I definitely think less is more. I am not the hugest fan of the 'scouse' brow look either. So, I took the minimal approach with the shades 'Tranquil' and 'Lavish' from my MUA 'Undress Me Too' Palette with an angled brush. Next I simply do a winged liner look and apply some mascara. To add a bit of colour to my complexion, I will take Rimmel London Blush in 'Bronze' with a powder brush.

Today, 'For the Love of Thrift', my little baby, is officially one years old
On this day last year I created a blog that was simply to share with my readers an abundance of things from thrift tips, festivals and fairs to sharing days out with my family. I would never in a million years have thought I would have met one of my all time favourite you tubers (Rhiannon A.K.A. FashionRocksMySocks), I have been nominated for an award and I got the chance to interview one of my favourite artists and lots more of great opportunities, all in the space of one year! I've never felt so confident in an environment where I can be myself, and there are plenty of people who can relate to what I do. The blogging community is amazing and probably some of my best friendships have branched from this hobby.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to my family and friends for their support as without them, I don't know what I'd be doing without this blog to be quite honest! They've been so supportive and my mum has been the best plus one for every event and it's been a pleasure and I hope we go on many more adventures! It feels amazing to have survived a whole year blogging on For the Love of Thrift and here's to many more years to come!

Happy Birthday to For the Love of Thrift!
